Visit planner
Florida springs camping is not one product. The main split is private spring camping, state park campgrounds, cabin/lodge-style stays and nearby lodging used as a base for multiple springs.
| Need | Spring | Planning role | Verify first |
|---|---|---|---|
| Private spring campground | Ginnie Springs Outdoors | Use this when the group wants camping, rentals, tubing, swimming and river access in one private park. | Current prices, reservations, alcohol/cooler rules, quiet hours, rentals and river conditions. |
| State park camping plus river trip | Rainbow Springs State Park | Use this for a Dunnellon weekend with spring pool, Rainbow River tubing and camping logistics. | Campground availability, correct entrance, tubing access and park capacity. |
| Quieter North Florida camping | Manatee Springs State Park | Use this for Suwannee River access, boardwalks, paddling and Big Bend-style spring camping. | Camping availability, park notices, burn bans, water access and paddling rules. |
| Cabin or lodge-style base | Silver Springs State Park | Use this when the group wants cabins, boat tours, paddling and an Ocala-area base. | Cabin availability, boat schedules, camping availability and allowed water activities. |
Private spring camping, state park camping, cabins and nearby rentals solve different problems. A group weekend at Ginnie is not the same as a state park cabin at Silver Springs or a quieter campsite near the Suwannee.
The details that matter are specific to each campground: reservations, minimum stays, utility fees, alcohol rules, pets, quiet hours, fire restrictions, tube rentals and whether registered campers can still enter during capacity closures.
Trip routes
Each route groups nearby spring pages and access links so you can plan a realistic day or weekend.
Use this for a North Florida base with private camping, state park water access and tubing nearby.
Use this for a slower camping route with river access and smaller-town logistics.
Before you go
Use this checklist before leaving. Hours, fees, reservations, wildlife rules and water access can change with season, weather and park operations.
